Our Tenancy Support service plays an important part in the prevention of homelessness and aims to empower people to lead a more stable lifestyle.

Our team is skilled at listening and providing emotional support to help people build confidence in coping with their circumstances and provides a programme of Service User participation and activities to aid with this. .Our role is to give Service User the time, space and support to move forward at their own pace and make the changes that matter to them.

Our Tenancy Support teams provide person centred support in the home and cover a wide range of issues that include:

  • Tenancy and housing issues
  • Budgeting
  • Debt
  • Benefit entitlement
  • Education/employment/voluntary work
  • Support networks/relationships
  • Physical and mental health issues.
  • Parenting
  • Substance misuse/alcohol
  • Criminal justice/anti-social behaviour.

In addition to the normal referral procedures, the Teams are able to offer short term intensive support to those Service User who are in crisis and at immediate risk of losing their tenancy. The team are able to take urgent referrals that support Tenants who present with the most challenging and complex needs.

In addition to direct support, our Tenancy Support Schemes offer an holistic approach to support and encourage Service User to participate in activities and events arranged by the Team to develop social skills and engender a sense of community to reduce isolation. The schemes focus groups also provides the opportunity for our Service Users to feedback on service delivery and provides the opportunity to discuss and plan future events following a co –designed philosophy.
