Support Worker, Paxton St Hostel, Swansea

Salary: £18,000, plus payments for sleep-ins as part of the rota

Hours: 35 hours per week

The Paxton Street hostel provides short-to-medium term licenced accommodation for vulnerable, single homeless people age 18 and over in the Swansea area. We support people to meet their goals so that they can access appropriate accommodation in the community.

As a Support Worker, you will partner closely with clients and colleagues in what is a rewarding and challenging environment to provide a range of helpful activities including regular support reviews, working closely with specialist organisations, food preparation, and other activities related to the day-to-day running of the project. The hostel operates a shift rota which includes evening and sleepover work and weekends.

We are looking for individuals who are committed to working as part of a dynamic, resilient team dedicated to alleviating the pressures of social exclusion for some of the most vulnerable people in our community. The work we do to promote lasting, positive change is underpinned by a comprehensive staff training programme as well as a sincere desire to help make a real difference in people’s lives.
