Mathew’s high points in Bristol included managing a 93-bed hostel and introducing Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and peer mentoring initiatives that resulted in a 50% reduction in evictions and abandonments with 75% people continuing their recovery journey from homelessness.  In terms of trauma informed approach this included adopting an elastic tolerance to housing management and reflective practice for staff.

As Caer Las’ PIE journey progresses, we hope our clients will experience improved services and sustainable positive outcomes and our staff continue to get the tools, resources and support they need to achieve success.

Mathew oversees Caer Las’ entire operations, is the Safeguarding Lead for the organisation and Responsible Individual for CIW registered services.
